Christmas 2007

We had a delightful Christmas going back and forth between the Martins and the Petersons.

We feel so blessed this year to have our best Christmas present ever!  We're grateful to have a merrier Christmas than last year.  After the trials come the blessing!  We are grateful that Andrew made it here safe and healthy.  We learned a lot last year about the healing power of the Atonement when we had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, and this year we're learning more about the happy part of the plan of happiness!!  The Lord truly blesses us with what we need.

Aunt Katie and Andrew in matching pajamas.  We didn't even plan this!!

Andrew and Grandma Doris.  He was totally worn out from opening presents.  You'll notice a different outfit.  For Christmas, Santa brought diapers to Andrew, but he didn't make them blow-out proof.

Jack is totally into this new cousin thing, except when Grandma is holding him.  Then he's not so sure.  Now that I look at this picture, I don't think it was taken on Christmas, but it was part of the season.

More About the Star of the Show

Finally, he's awake!!  It took us a while to get this picture of the cute boy.

The poor little guy had a yeast infection and had to be treated by putting this stuff called Gentian Violet in his mouth.  It didn't taste bad, but he definitely looked like a purple dinosaur for a few days.  It was well worth it, though, so he can eat normally again.

So, Andrew is a pretty good baby.  He doesn't cry any more than a normal baby, as far as we can tell.  However, DON'T take his clothes off.  He HATES being naked (go figure) and taking baths.  It's serious WWF time when he has to be cleaned.

Papa and Andrew really like each other.  They have a lot in common.  They both like to play...

and sleep.  A lot.

Andrew Isaiah Martin

We were so excited to welcome our new little buddy on December 5, 2007 at 6:17 AM. After a sleepless night and a not-too-painful labor, our little 6 lb. 2 oz. bundle of joy started his life here. He's pretty much the cutest baby we've ever seen. Here are the pictures to prove it. Thanks again for all the prayers and the help! We feel very blessed with wonderful friends and family.

Andrew and Megan just after delivery. Megs did a great job. The labor
was only 6 hours and 4 pushes.

We are a little bit worried that Andrew is going to have grandparents that will spoil the heck out of him. Thanks parents for all your help the past couple weeks!

Dad couldn't be any prouder of his new baby boy!

Welcoming Ourselves to the Blogging World

After a lot of pressure from others and some life-changing events, we've finally succumbed to the blogging mania going on.  So, welcome to our digital scrapbook.  We hope you enjoy!

Love,
