Blasted Katie

So, I was totally avoiding the tag going around my family's blogosphere until Katie got a hold of it....Why do I feel obligated to do these? Because, let's face it, I'm self-centered. That's why I have a blog.

Things I Like to Watch

1. Gilmore Girls. Yes, I've seen every episode, and yes, it plays twice a day, and yes, I still occasionally watch it.
2. Iron Chef. Mmmm.
3. Throwdown with Bobby Flay.
4. SuperWhy. For real. I like it.

Things I'm Passionate About

1. Parenting
2. Food. Ask my in-laws.
3. Education.
4. Exercise

Words or Phrases I Say A Lot

1. We can't ALL cry at the same time, Andrew. It's Henry's turn.
2. Seriously, dude.
3. Hi, Mister Andrew (usually followed by Hi, Mister Mommy)
4. Oh my goodness (my child has totally picked up on this)

Things I Learned From the Past

1. Prayers are always answered.
2. School is so cool.
3. If you want to get somewhere fast, don't let Molly drive.
4. You can't stock up on sleep. It totally stinks, but you can't.

Places I Like to Go

1. Grocery shopping without kids. It soothes me.
2. Arizona
3. Park City when Justin's in a spendy mood.
4. San Diego

Things I Did Yesterday

1. Went to the gym
2. Jumped up and down really fast. It's a game I like to play with Andrew. :)
3. Read our library books about fifteen times with Andrew.
4. Watched Henry smile. And then barf.

Things I'm Looking Forward To

1. Moving to a warmer climate
2. The resurrection. Is that weird? Because I think it's going to be sweet.
3. Katie having a baby. Take THAT, sucka! (She's not pregnant, BTW)
4. My 10-year reunion. HA! That's totally not true. I'm starting to feel snarky.

Things I Love About Winter

1. Really?
2. I don't feel qualified to answer this.
3. My boys' birthdays are both in the winter.
4. Have I ever mentioned that I don't really love anything about winter?

Things On My Wish List

1. Healthy kids
2. Justin getting a big, fat scholarship for grad school
3. A year's supply of tuna fish. Oh, wait, I already have that.
4. A fun family vacation with Justin and the boys.

People I Tag (unlike Katie, I'm not tagging anyone with a guilt complex)

1. Justin (he won't do it)
2. Troy (he doesn't know how to post on a blog)
3. Andrew (I think his answers would be funny, but he's not allowed to touch the computer)
4. Scotty (Now that you don't have a car, you've got to have something to do, right?)

It Stuck...

So, the name is now official. Justin blessed Henry on Sunday. It was very nice and Justin didn't drop him, so that's good.

It was particularly fun to have our families come to church with us and then eat potatoes at our house. It was kind of like trying to fit as many people as you could into a phone booth.
Contrary to what the pictures demonstrate, my family was there too. I just didn't get the camera out before they left.

The Martin boys...I love how both Justin and Rick think they're the tallest and Chase is like a foot taller than both of them.

Superheroes?

And of course Henry didn't want to feel left out.

Don't mind the chins. This nice camera really does nothing for me. Sweet Henry was very focused on something.

Tater

So, we have really awesome friends that make winter bearable by coming to our house to play. One of said friends is Taylor aka Tater. He and Andrew love each other most of the time. They had lots of fun, but here's my favorite moment:

Embrace it.

So, I think I may have mentioned that winter isn't my favorite season. My in-laws have decided to help me find something good about the cold...and here it is:
Freakin' rockstar going off the jump. Was this before or after I ran over the reflector post? Don't remember.Showing my awesome mittens that Sean let me borrow. Was this before or after I rolled the snowmobile? Don't remember.

And what's a snowmobile trip without a nappy hair, freezing cold kissing picture? My awesome parents-in-law took care of the kids while we got to play ALL day. It was so super fun, and Andrew was, of course, in HEAVEN playing with Grandma and Grandpa.

A math problem to brighten your day...

Not a big fan of math. However, according to my calculations:

250 hours of studying for the GMAT(no joke)+25 admissions essays(again, not exaggerating)+I'm ashamed to admit how much money+1,000,000,000 hours of worry+countless prayers=

1 very happy husband who just got accepted into Texas A&M's graduate program for an MBA!!!!

Good job to the Justin who will soon be an Aggie. He totally looks like one, right?
PS. I don't even know what an Aggie is.

Best Feeling Ever...

I love my life, but lately I've been a stress case about some things...

Like why my 2-year-old can't seem to get along with other kids
Why my baby hates to sleep
Why I can't be Supermom or Superwife when it seems like everyone else can
Why I feel so helpless when bad things happen in the world and I have nothing to contribute

Which is why I'm so grateful for these babies...
There is just something about working out with a new pair of running shoes that makes me feel like for one second maybe I can be Supermom, make a difference in the world, and magically have energy even without sleep.

So thank you, new Nike LunarGlides. You bring me peace. And you look super fancy.

Photo Op Gone Wrong

So, I was getting the boys ready for church a couple of weeks ago, and they both looked so cute, I thought I'd snap some shots...Not quite.
